Upcoming Projects from Porch Dog Press

Next year Porch Dog Press will be publishing Keraynn (this is a working title, official title to be determined at a later date).

This young adult fantasy novel has set in my computer for quite a while, just waiting for the right time to be published.
Our cover artist is starting on concept and will be painting the cover. I'm so excited about this and can't wait to see my heroine, Keraynn, come to visual life.

I will keep my blog readers posted on developments as it starts to go through the editing and rewriting process. I will also be working on writing the second book. I want to make sure all facts line up between the first and second book before I publish the first book.

I have let Bean's friends read the printed out edition and this story has really found a home with the young adult/teenager set. So it's all very exciting. And I know I have readers anxiously waiting for the second book.

Here's the summary for the first book:

Secrets....Lies...And a culture that is about to be destroyed...

Keraynn is excited to be turning sixteen eclipses. Not only can she join the Guild, and hopefully silence the villagers' taunts, she's sure her admittance will make her the healer she should have been if her abilities hadn't been severely damaged in a childhood accident.
But insidious changes in her village and the Council threaten everything and everyone she cares about and when Rosen’s sister is seriously injured and left for dead by Council woman Healer Sayma, Keraynn’s act of defiance will cost her dearly.
For the world she has known is about to shatter around her and the secrets she has been keeping her entire life may just be her death sentence.

A Panian warrior...a family in hiding...and a power he can't control...

Eisen, born of a Lobyian Healer and a Panian warrior, vaguely remembers his life before his family had to hide at the edge of the Sea of Rika, far away from the Lobyian villages. Loneliness is his companion and only Keraynn’s monthly visits help keep him strong.
Priding himself as a Panian warrior, just like his Padra, his courage and skills are put to the test when Keraynn’s life is in danger and he must leave the safety of the seashore to protect her.

But if she knew the secrets he had kept from her…
